The Light and the Lotus

In the land of greed and loss, I stumbled onto a place where rivers and mountains live in harmony. In this place is a monastery where Christianity and Buddhism co-exist, just as the mountains and rivers. Here I was reminded of the vision of a Chinese emperor during the Tang Dynasty.

In 635 C.E. a small band of Christian monks travel a trade route known as, the ‘silk road’, from Persia to the Imperial capital of China. Welcomed by the Emperor they lived and translated the manuscripts and teachings of their prophet Jesus. During this time in China known as the Golden age, hundreds of monasteries were built. During the time that followed both Persians and Chinese blended the philosophies of Buddhism, Taoism, and Christianity. In China, this form of Christianity focused more on the message of Jesus, which unlike in Rome became more of a church driven doctrine.

Sadly, as in Europe, the Chinese world fell into what history calls the dark ages. In as little as 60 or 70 years after the monks came to China the ‘Luminous Religion’, as it became to be known, was under persecution, as was Buddhism, and other new ideas. The entire world descended into darkness. Knowledge and learning became scarce commodities. In Europe the Church was the only constant in this world change. People became tribal. Cultural loyalty separated empires and countries. By 1050 C.E. Churches had all the power and knowledge of the world. The people had nothing, but their lives. The hierarchical system of power that was created still lingers today.

So why, all this nonsense, about history? It is because change is upon the human race again. The lessons of the past beg to be exposed, and another golden age can be revealed. Every faith has something to contribute and to offer towards, “World Unity”.

There is coming a time soon that World Unity will have to happen for the human species to survive on this planet. Something like for example, ‘climate change’ will force this species to examine our common human bonds. HOW each person worships, offers thanks, praise, and faith no longer matters. The only thing that DOES matter is that these things are offered to our higher power. This new, ‘World Unity’ and a common human bond will allow this current human terrestrial species to become a more aerial human species capable of traveling Galaxies.

The notion of single thought and motivated religion is nearing an end. An age of one World government, and a singular Spiritual philosophy is near. This new Spiritual philosophy will not be of religion, but one of ‘Enlightenment’.

“Imagine’… said the words of John Lennon.

Bumba dee da… Happy Trails!
